Why we are here
Clear, conflict-free guidance on money decisions can be hard to find. There is advice for those who can pay and a wealth of often contradictory online content, but little for people who want an informed, independent conversation about their own situation.
Money Unfiltered Charitable Trust fills that space in Christchurch. We provide a place to talk through money decisions carefully, learn, question and create a plan for your next steps that fit your life.
Our purpose is to promote financial wellbeing by providing financial education, advice, support and guidance free of charge, and by keeping that support impartial and non-commercial.
We all make decisions based on the information and knowledge we have at the time. We are not here to dwell on past decisions. Our role is to make the information you need accessible, ensure it makes sense for you, and to focus on what is possible from here.

Who we are
Money Unfiltered is an incorporated charitable trust and non-financial not-for-profit organisation. Our volunteers who work with clients hold recognised financial qualifications and are committed to focusing on your interests and circumstances when we provide guidance.
Meet our trustees
Suzanne Eynon
Suzanne is responsible for designing and delivering the Trust’s free financial advice and education service. She previously worked in the United Kingdom managing and developing social housing, and in New Zealand in project management roles delivering public and community projects. She holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies and the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5, Core and Investment), providing a solid grounding in both business and personal finance. Her own experience of seeking clear, unbiased financial advice, and seeing both how hard it can be to obtain and how valuable it can be once you find it, led her to help establish Money Unfiltered. Suzanne wants other people to benefit from the kind of clear, independent conversations she had been looking for.
Alyson Keller
Alyson contributes to how the Trust designs and delivers its financial education for clients. She has over 24 years’ experience as a leadership development facilitator and coach across the education and corporate sectors. She holds a Professional Certified Coach credential through the International Coaching Federation, reflecting advanced training in adult learning and development. Alyson understands first‑hand the financial pressures people face when navigating career transitions, stepping into new roles, or carrying the weight of being a primary income provider for their family. This informs her focus on financial education that is accessible, practical, respectful of people’s circumstances, and that supports people to make their own informed decisions
Roger Eynon
Roger ensures the Trust meets its governance and financial responsibilities. He has worked in the United Kingdom in retail banking and proceeds of crime investigation, and in New Zealand in management roles in the charitable sector, giving him practical insight into how money, regulation and community needs interact. After a break of 40 years, he has returned to academic study and is currently studying History at the University of Canterbury. Through this he sees first‑hand how students of different ages juggle study, work and money, often under pressure, and how they make considered decisions aimed at creating more options for their future.
How we are funded
We rely on grants and philanthropic funding from sources unrelated to financial products or advice firms. This ensures our guidance is focused solely on your needs.
In practice, this means:
- We do not accept sponsorships, commissions or any other benefits from financial product providers or financial advice firms.
- We do not receive referral fees from any product provider or if we advise you to seek specialist advice from a regulated financial adviser.
